We also specialize in providing molecular diagnostics clinical services for detection of various pathogens, including HIV, HPV, HBV, HCV, Avian Influenza and most other prevalent diseases caused by viral, bacterial, and parasitic causative agents. The motto of Intrepid Nepal’s Diagnostic branch is “Precision Diagnostics”. The long term goal of this organization is to be the center for all infectious disease diagnosis for Nepal in collaboration with Center for Molecular Dynamics Nepal (CMDN).

Some of our expertises are outlined below:
REGULAR PCR and REAL TIME PCR (QRT-PCR) as platforms in genomic detection
Real-time polymerase chain reaction or quantitative real time polymerase chain reaction (QRT-PCR), not to be confused with RT-PCR (reverse transcriptase PCR), can simultaneously quantify and amplify a specific part of a given DNA molecule. This technique avoids a number of steps that is normally part of PCR and thereby not only prevents human error but also minimizes errors in quantification. It is the “real-time” version of quantitative polymerase chain reaction (Q-PCR), itself a modification of polymerase chain reaction. At Intrepid Nepal, this technique is our primary method of emerging disease monitoring and quantification. We believe that if we take out human error to a large extent out of the equation, we can provide our clients with accurate and reproducible results.
ELISA and WESTERN BLOTTING
At Intrepid Nepal, the Enzyme-Linked ImmunoSorbent Assay, or ELISA, is used as the standard biochemical technique in identifying a large number of infections and diseases. We only use the diagnostic kits that have a proven track record for ELISA purposes. Some of the tests include HIV, Hepatitis, Tuberculosis among others. We have trained expertise in ELISA and other immunological techniques such as SDS PAGE and Western Blotting. With these techniques we can not only detect viral, bacterial and parasitic antigens but also cytokines profiles of various immune cells of the body that may at any time show indications of elevated immune response to a pathogen.
We are not just limited to molecular and immunological methods at Intrepid Nepal. We also have experts in applied science: microbiology, epidemiology, bioinformatics; We have medical doctors in our team; We also have an excellent internet service team. With all these expertise our customers should never feel that they have not received the best possible service at Intrepid Nepal.
Current list of infectious diseases that Intrepid Nepal diagnostic facilities can accurately detect, and in some cases, quantify:
1. HIV: Detection using molecular- High Throughput PCR technology and immunological- ELISA, rapid kit methods; Quantification of viral load using molecular: State-of-the-Art German Technology based QPCR machine
2. Hepatitis A,B, C,E virus: Detection using either molecular or immunological methods or both. Quantification also using QPCR methods
3. Human Papilloma Virus (HPV): Detection using either molecular or immunological methods or both for a number of subtypes. Quantification also possible using QPCR methods
4. Tuberculosis(TB): Detection of regular and MDR strains using molecular- High Throughput PCR technology; Quantification of bacterial DNA load using molecular State-of-the-Art German Technology based QPCR machine
5. Leprosy: Detection using molecular- High Throughput PCR technology; Quantification of bacterial DNA load using molecular State-of-the-Art German Technology based QPCR machine
6. Immunological tests (ELISA, Rapid tests) for a number of sexually transmitted infections (Chlamydia, Syphilus, and others)
